Norwalk Baseball Clinches FCIAC Playoff Berth
Bears edge Ridgefield 4-3 in regular-season finale to finish 12-6 in FCIAC

The Norwalk baseball team clinched an FCIAC playoff spot Saturday with a 4-3 victory over Ridgefield.
The Bears posted a final record of 12-6 in the FCIAC and will finish fifth or sixth depending on the outcome of New Canaan's final two games.
Following the results of Saturday's games, seven of the eight playoff teams have been determined, led by St. Joseph (16-2), Danbury (14-4), McMahon (13-4) and Staples (14-4).

Greenwich (a 1-0 winner over Wilton) and Norwalk clinched with victories on Saturday while Fairfield Warde got in despite a 2-0 loss at Danbury.
The final playoff pairings won't be known until at least Sunday because New Canaan's game against McMahon scheduled for Saturday was postponed until Monday. The Rams already are set to face Trumbull on Sunday.

The delay means the start of the FCIAC playoffs have been pushed one day until Tuesday. The semifinals and finals are now set for Harbor Yard on Thursday and Saturday.
New Canaan needs to win one of its last two games to clinch a playoff spot. If the Rams lose their final two, Wilton will claim the final playoff berth.
