Norwalk-Based Frontier Communications Announces Layoffs

The television, phone and internet company reported a decline in customers during its most recent fiscal quarter.

NORWALK, CT — Television, phone and internet company Frontier Communications announced it will layoff about 1,000 workers as part of a restructuring effort following a disappointing fiscal quarter, the company announced.

The Norwalk-based company, which acquired territories in California, Florida and Texas this year, lost a net of 155,000 residential customers last quarter.

The layoffs address redundancy in the company's operations following the purchase of those former Verizon territories, according to Frontier CEO Dan McCarthy, reports The Hour.
