Norwalk Boys Soccer 2-1 over Stamford
Kevin Joslyn scores twice for the Bears, who will host Westhill in the second round on Monday
The Norwalk boys soccer team survived a less-than-stellar effort Friday to hold off 30th-seeded Stamford 2-1 in the first round of the CIAC Class LL state tournament.
Kevin Joslyn scored both goals for the third-seeded Bears, who entered the state tournament after getting eliminated in the quarterfinals of the FCIAC playoffs for the second straight year.
Joslyn scored on a rebound off a shot by Nic Zuniga to give Norwalk (15-2-1) a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the contest.

However, Stamford (6-10-1) tied it on a stunning goal by Gustavo Torrealba with just one second remaining in the first half.
The contest remained even for the next 11-plus minutes, but Joslyn tallied the game-winner with just over 28 minutes remaining, heading in a cross from Alejandro Rivera.

Norwalk will host another FCIAC opponent in the second round Monday -- No. 19 Westhill, which advanced with a 3-0 win over No. 14 Bristol Central on Friday.
The Vikings were the FCIAC's hottest team down the stretch, going 9-0-2 to get into the league playoffs.
