"Today, I was joined by the Department of Public Works and members of the Common Council, including Common Council President Greg Burnett, David Heuvelman, Dominque Johnson, and Nora Niedzielski-Eichner to celebrate the completion of the Center-Ohio, Plymouth Avenue neighborhood sidewalks and paving infrastructure project.

This project included 1.9 miles of sidewalks. As a City, we are continuing to invest in infrastructure projects that align with our vision of improving the quality of life for residents. We used a holistic, effective asset management approach to transform the look and feel of this neighborhood by enhancing walkability and livability.

To increase livability, the City continues to design our sidewalks with the mindset of building a stronger sense of community that is safer, with greater walkability and more equitable transportation choices. I’m very proud of our DPW team and how they paved a total of 45 roads in 2022, increasing our efforts from 29 in 2021. I look forward to what we accomplish for Norwalk residents in 2023 as we continue to transform more neighborhoods using this holistic vital transportation infrastructure approach, one neighborhood at a time."
