Norwalk Community Health Center Receives $30,000 Grant
The grant, which will benefit the center's reproductive health programs, was provided by the Fairfield County Community Foundation.

Norwalk Community Health Center, Inc.: Norwalk Community Health Center, Inc. (NCHC) has received a $30,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation Fund for Women and Girls to provide low income teens and women of child bearing age tools to make informed decisions about family planning and family spacing and expand access to appropriate contraception.
Nearly 3,000 teens and women, including some 550 prenatal patients each year, rely on Norwalk Community Health Center, Inc.’s Women’s Health care team of gynecologists, obstetricians, nurse midwives, nurses and medical assistants for their ongoing reproductive health needs, without regard to ability to pay. They are among 13,000 greater Norwalk and Fairfield County patients who entrust their pediatric, adult, dental, women’s and behavioral healthcare to NCHC at its 120 Connecticut Avenue location and aboard its Medical Mobile Unit.
“Lack of access to affordable contraception, particularly long acting reversible options which can cost upwards of $800, deprive a woman of her ability to decide when and if she is financially and emotionally ready to have a child, to start or add to her family,” said John Gettings, Norwalk Community Health Center, Inc. Interim Chief Executive Officer. “This grant will help women of child bearing age better manage their own reproductive health.”
