Norwalk Coronavirus Updates: City Launches Resources Survey

The survey is designed to help the community better understand the resources available to the public through local nonprofits.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling, and the city's Community Services and Emergency Management departments, have launched an online survey to learn what resources are available to the public through local nonprofits during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

"There are many nonprofits who are providing essential services to residents during this difficult time," Rilling said. "From providing food to financial assistance and collecting and distributing cleaning supplies and diapers, this really has become one large team effort. I encourage our nonprofit sector to please complete the survey. These responses will be valuable in helping us craft a local resource guide for residents during this pandemic and beyond."

The survey, which launched on Friday, can be accessed here.

What became clear to officials is that these groups, which are already doing great work, also are developing new programs to meet the emerging needs of the community. The goal of this survey is to create a resource for those who may need the help of an organization, as well as those who may want to make a donation or become a volunteer.

As of Thursday, Norwalk had 76 confirmed coronavirus cases, and had experienced three deaths. Statewide, there were more than 1,000 confirmed cases, 21 deaths and 125 hospitalizations.

The survey can be completed at any time online at norwalkct.org/communityhelp.
