Norwalk Democrats Plan 'Weekend Of Action' Sept. 12-13

Efforts will concentrate on voter outreach in support of the Norwalk Democratic candidates.

Norwalk Democrats will launch the 2020 campaign season with a Weekend of Action on September 12 and 13 from 10 am – 3 pm.

Local Democrats will come together to support the endorsed Democratic ticket: Bob Duff for State Senate, Lucy Dathan for State Representative, Chris Perone for State Representative, Travis Simms for State Representative, Stephanie Thomas for State Representative and Jim Himes for Congress. Outreach to local voters will include education on preparing plans to safely exercise the right to vote through absentee ballots or voting at polling locations.

Teams of local volunteers will be engaged in a number of activities, all following socially distanced and safe protocols, to deliver the message that the slate is dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community and moving Norwalk forward.

“We have a terrific slate of Democratic candidates on the ballot this year, and our Democrats are more motivated than ever to support candidates with Norwalk values,” said Eloisa Melendez, Norwalk DTC Chair.

Guest speakers, including Rep. Jim Himes, will be on hand to motivate and encourage volunteers to canvass, door knock, telephone, write post cards, etc. The Norwalk Democratic Town Committee (NDTC) will be recruiting volunteers and all interested residents, whatever their party affiliation, are welcome to attend and help out.
