Norwalk Deputy Police Chief Retires After 35 Years Of Service

Deputy Chief Susan Zecca recently celebrated her last day as a Norwalk police officer after 35 years of service.

NORWALK, CT — Deputy Chief Susan Zecca celebrated her last day as a Norwalk police officer Friday after 35 years of service to the city, according to the department.

In a Facebook post, police said Zecca has served as deputy chief for the past decade.

During her final transmission, Zecca ordered all Norwalk police officers to "continue to serve the public with professionalism, compassion and honor, and to remain safe."

Police Chief James Walsh also presented Zecca with a plaque and noted she set the standard for leadership and integrity that makes the Norwalk Police Department the professional agency it is today.

"Deputy Chief Zecca, we thank you for your dedication and unyielding standards in service to the Norwalk community," police said on Facebook. "May this next chapter grant you happiness and fulfillment."
