Not for patients-only, Norwalk Community Health Center hosts community diaper bank, adds Saturday hours.

Norwalk Community Health Center, Inc. (NCHC) announces expansion of its community diaper distribution with the addition of Saturdays from 9 am to 11:30 am at NCHC’s flagship location at 120 Connecticut Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854, except major holiday weekends. The Saturday diaper bank was added to make it easier for parents to get diapers for their children. Previously, NCHC distribution was limited to Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 pm to 4 pm. The Community Diaper Bank, made possible with our partners Nuvance/Northwell and the Diaper Bank of Connecticut, was established to ensure that something as basic as diapers would be free and available to patients and non-patients like.

Diapers are considered a basic essential for newborns to toddlers. According to the Diaper Bank of CT, diapers help improve the health and wellbeing of both mom and baby, increase access to early childhood education opportunities. It also has an economic impact on a parent’s ability to go to work and school because an adequate supply of diapers is required for daycare.

Norwalk Community Health Center is committed to patient and community wellness. Hosting a free community diaper bank to get diapers to families contributes to the wellbeing of children starting at birth, their families, and our community.
