Norwalk Election 2016: Winner Called in 25th State Senate Race, Local Incumbent Roll

Before you head into the voting booth on Election Day here's information on all the candidates, polling places and more.

Update: Incumbents Fred Wilms (142nd House), Terrie Wood (141st House) and Chris Perone (137th House) all won re-election Tuesday, writes The Hour.

Update: State Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff has won re-election to represent Norwalk and Darien, reports The Hour.

Duff defeated Darien businessman Greg Ehlers for a sixth term for the 25th State Senate District.

Original story: Norwalk residents will head to the polls on Nov. 8 for the 2016 Presidential election.

Polling places in the city, and throughout the state, will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and so far turnout reportedly has been strong in Connecticut.

On the ballot, registered voters in Norwalk will be able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representative, and registrar of voters. Local voters will also have four Charter Revision questions to answer.

Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff will face off against Darien businessman Greg Ehlers in the 25th senate district, which covers Darien and Norwalk.

Duff is seeking his sixth term and is Senate Majority Leader. He has been a real estate professional with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty for 21 years.

It is the first time Ehlers is running for elected office. He called Duff the, "...principal architect of failed policies that are destroying business, hurting the middle class and driving working people to other states.”

He came to Darien in 2001 and said since then the state’s environment has become more anti-business due to greater regulations and large tax increases.

In the 142nd State House District, Republican incumbent Fred Wilms will run against Working Families Party member Anna Duleep.

Wilms is a senior vice president at Webster Bank where he works with small businesses across lower Fairfield County. Duleep is a former Democratic Norwalk Common Council majority leader and city sheriff. She runs the Wilton branch of an educational services company.

Chris Perone, an incumbent Democrat, is seeking his seventh term for the 137th State House District, and is opposed by Republican Darline Perpignan, a motivational speaker and youth advocate.

For the 141st State House District, Republican incumbent Terrie Wood is seeking her fifth term and is running against former Darien Democratic Town Town Committee Chair Randy Klein.

In the 140th State House District, Democratic incumbent Bruce V. Morris is running unopposed, and in the 143rd State House District, Republican incumbent Gail Lavielle is also running unopposed.

Republican Karen Doyle Lyons and Democrat Stuart W. Wells III are the candidates for Norwalk Registrar of Voters.

The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, and Green Party Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

For United States Senate, the candidates are incumbent Richard Blumenthal, Democrat, Dan Carter, Republican, Richard Lion, Libertarian, and Jeffrey Russell, Green Party.

For United States Congress, the choice for the Fourth District is between incumbent Jim Himes, a Democrat, and John Shaban, a Republican.
