Norwalk Exchange Club to host rally as rider's ride through Norwalk against child abuse

The Norwalk Exchange Club will be sponsoring the tenth annual Ride Against Child Abuse during the last part of June to bring attention to the problem of child abuse and help raise money for child abuse prevention efforts throughout the United States.
This year’s ride will be a little different from in years past. Instead of a one day, local motorcycle ride fundraiser, five riders and one passenger from Utah and Arizona will be riding their motorcycles across the country, visiting each of the 48 contiguous United States in ten days. This feat, an “Iron Butt Challenge” known as the 48/10, has only been completed by 238 certified riders (as of October 2017) and five passengers (the most recent being the older sister of the passenger who will make the attempt this year).
The Ride will begin in St. George, Utah on June 22, 2018 at 4:00 a.m. and will end in Oregon on July 1, 2018. Participants will be riding over 7,500 miles and will be making stops at Exchange Clubs along the route including Flagstaff, Arizona; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Hapeville, Georgia; Norwalk, Connecticut; Billings, Montana; and at the National Exchange Club headquarters in Toledo, Ohio.

Exchange Clubs from around the country will join the efforts by organizing media events, publicity, and rallies as the motorcyclist’s ride through their communities. Others will participate by promoting social media campaigns to raise funds for their local clubs.
In Norwalk, CT, the Norwalk Exchange Club will hold a rally for the riders on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 11:30am to noon at B & B Service located at 206 Main Street in Norwalk, CT. Donations raised locally will be used for area child abuse prevention efforts.
