Appearing in its first senior American Legion state championship game, Norwalk fell to Branford 4-1 Friday evening at Muzzy Field in Bristol.
Because Norwalk was undefeated, it will get another chance to win the title on Saturday, when the teams square off again in a winner-take-all battle at Muzzy Field at 1 p.m.
Branford, the top seed and defending Legion state champion, has won six straight games out of the loser's bracket after dropping its opening contest in the tournament.
