NORWALK, CT — The city's annual Independence Day concert and fireworks at Calf Pasture Beach scheduled for Monday, July 3, has been postponed to Wednesday, July 5, according to the city.

In an announcement Sunday, city officials said the postponement was due to the latest weather forecast showing a high likelihood of rain and thunderstorms for Monday evening.

"Unfortunately, the city of Norwalk is postponing our Independence Day concert and fireworks show to Wednesday, July 5th, because of increased chances of rain and thunderstorms in Monday evening's weather forecast," Rilling said in a statement. "We know how much this annual fireworks show means to the community, and while we are disappointed it won't be Monday as planned, we are working to ensure that residents can celebrate and enjoy themselves with live music and fireworks on Wednesday evening."
