Zayna Fulton, Emma Oyomba and Erica Cohens all scored 11 points Friday as the Norwalk girls basketball team held off a furious fourth-quarter rally to defeat Shelton 53-45 in the championship game of the Gaelettes' holiday tournament. Norwalk appeared to be in control with a 46-23 lead after the third quarter. But the Gaelettes, who managed just two points in the third period, made things interesting by outscoring the Bears 22-7 over the final eight minutes. Norwalk improved to 3-3 while Shelton dropped to 3-4. Kelsey Pendagast had 17 points to lead the Gaelettes. Cohens was named tournament MVP while Fulton also earned a berth on the all-tournament team. Pendagast and Alyssa Eannotti (seven teams) were tabbed for the all-tourney team from Shelton.
