Students entering kindergarten, sixth or ninth grades and those new to the school system must get a physical exam before school starts.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Health Department is reminding families that students entering kindergarten, sixth or ninth grades and those new to the Norwalk school system must get a physical exam before school starts.

According to a news release, the health department also reminds parents that if you have insurance and a regular health care provider, you should contact your child’s doctor now to schedule an appointment for a school physical.

For anyone with trouble finding an affordable and timely option elsewhere, the health department is offering affordable school physicals on Aug. 20 and 21, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Examinations include all necessary screening tests, laboratory tests and vaccines.
