Norwalk To Hold Family-Friendly Early Childhood Celebration
The city of Norwalk invites families with young children to attend a free "early childhood" celebration this weekend.

NORWALK, CT — The City of Norwalk invites families with young children, ages 1-5, to attend a free family-friendly "early childhood" celebration this weekend.
According to a news release provided by the city, the event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the M&T Magnificent Room at the SoNo Collection mall.

This event will include numerous fun and educational activities for children such as, puzzles, bubbles, crafts, painting and giveaways, including gently used books. There will also be a play area called "spare parts," sponsored by the Family & Children's Agency, where kids can tinker with empty recycled objects to express their creativity.
This event is being organized by the Norwalk Early Childhood Office and the Norwalk Early Childhood Council in honor of the "Week of the Young Child" to promote the importance of early childhood and play between parents and their young children, city officials said.

Parents will have a chance to connect with several community recourses, such as the Norwalk Community Resource Hub, the Norwalk Community Health Center and the Norwalk Public Library.
Mayor Harry Rilling and Mary Oster, the early childhood coordinator for the city of Norwalk, are among those expected to be in attendance.
