Norwalk Home 'Unfit For Occupancy' Following Fire: FD

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a house fire Wednesday at 11:22 p.m.on Cutrone Road. According to a press release, the fire originated in a second floor bedroom of the two-story home.

Deputy Chief Edward Prescott said flames were visible from two of the second floor windows when firefighters arrived.

"The fire was quickly knocked down within 10 minutes of arrival," Prescott said in a release, "but crews remained on scene extinguishing hot spots and overhauling a cluttered dormered bedroom and storage area."

Prescott said three adults were home at the time of the fire but were able to leave the house prior to firefighters' arrival.

"The home was posted unfit for occupancy and the occupants [are] staying with other family members," Prescott said.
