Norwalk Home's Garage Damaged After Being Hit By Car: Police

Police said the city's building inspector examined the area before the car was removed from the structure.

NORWALK, CT — Police said the city's building inspector was called to a home on Ponus Avenue to examine the damage caused by a car crashing into the house's garage Tuesday night.

In an email to Patch, Police Lt. Joe Dinho provided further details about the crash, which was reported on the department's Facebook page this week.

After officers were called to the house around 6:30 p.m., police determined the car traveled off the road and onto the private property, where it came to rest after hitting the garage, Dinho said.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation, Dinho said. No one inside the home was hurt.

The city's building inspector was also called to the home and advised police the car could be safely removed from the structure and towed away, Dinho said.
