Norwalk Hospital Gets New Grade In National Rankings

The latest Leapfrog report graded hospitals on patient safety measures.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Hospital received a "B" grade in the newly released Spring 2026 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, a national report that evaluates hospitals on patient safety measures including medical errors, injuries and infections.

The biannual report from The Leapfrog Group assigns hospitals grades from “A” through “F” using more than 30 safety-related performance measures.

Connecticut ranked No. 1 in the nation in the latest report, with 64.3 percent of hospitals in the state earning an “A” grade, according to CT Insider.

Norwalk Hospital scored better than average in a number of categories tracked by Leapfrog, including "effective leadership to prevent errors," "nursing and bedside care for patients" and "specially trained doctors care for ICU patients" among other categories.

The hospital is located at 34 Maple Street in Norwalk.

Leapfrog said the grades are intended to help patients compare hospitals based on publicly available safety data.
