Norwalk Man, 79, Dies Following Fall from Roof of Commercial Building

Raymond LeDuc, Sr., was a Norwalk native who owned a local real estate business.

NORWALK, CT — Raymond LeDuc, Sr., a 79-year-old Norwalk resident and real estate business owner, died Tuesday from injuries he suffered in a fall off the roof of a commercial building on Broad Street, according to authorities.

LeDuc fell two stories when a ladder he was climbing down on slid out from under him, reports The Hour. The fall occurred in the early afternoon and LeDuc was transported to Norwalk Hospital where he passed away later that night.

Raymond J. LeDuc, Sr., age 79 of Norwalk, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 27. He was the loving husband of Anita Renzulli LeDuc for 56 years. Ray was born in Norwalk on August 4, 1937, the son of the late George and Laura Benoit LeDuc and has lived locally for all of his life. He attended Norwalk schools and was the owner of his real estate business. Ray loved to play golf, classic cars and winter vacationing in Florida with Anita.
Survivors also include three children and spouses; Joseph A. and Shannon LeDuc, Raymond J. and Debbie LeDuc, all of Norwalk, Susan and Fabio Santos of Ohio, a brother Leo LeDuc and his wife Diane, his 6 loving grandchildren Sara and Kimberly LeDuc, Max, Marc, Mia, and Madison Rae Santos, and many nieces and nephews. Ray was also predeceased by his siblings Roland, Donald and Rene.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 30, 10 AM at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Ray’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Thursday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to St. Jerome Church or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN, 38105. (www.stjude.org).
