Norwalk Man Accused Of Identity, Credit Card Theft In Westport: Police
The incident occurred this past October, according to Westport police.
WESTPORT, CT — A 30-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on a warrant charging him with larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and identity theft in connection with an incident from October, according to Westport police.
In addition to the above listed charges, Jonathan Doherty was also charged with failure to appear in connection to an unrelated case, which contributed to his bail being $110,000 when he was arrested on a warrant on Monday.
The case began in late October after a purse was found at the Levitt Pavilion.

"Upon contacting the owner of the purse, we discovered that the purse had been stolen the previous night from her vehicle and a credit card had been used at CVS in Westport," wrote Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods in a statement. "Westport Police Detectives secured surveillance footage and shared it within the law enforcement community. The suspect was initially identified as Jonathan Doherty by Westport Detectives."
Doherty was familiar to Westport police, because he had been arrested on similar charges in 2021, according to Woods.
