Norwalk Man Accused Of Possessing Child Porn Sentenced To Prison: Feds

Court officials said a man accused of accessing and possessing images and videos of child sex abuse was sentenced to prison this week.

NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man accused of accessing and possessing images and videos of child sex abuse was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, U.S. Attorney for Connecticut Vanessa Roberts Avery announced in a news release.

According to court documents and statements made in court, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report from the smartphone messenger application Kik in December 2021 about a user who was distributing videos of child pornography through its service.

Kik deactivated the user's account, Avery said.

As federal law enforcement investigated the incident and tried to determine the user's identity, Kik submitted another report to NCMEC in April 2022 of an account that was being used to distribute videos of child pornography, Avery said.

According to Avery, the investigation revealed Jake Scott Flewellyn, 26, of Norwalk, created both Kik accounts and used them to distribute approximately 107 images and videos depicting child sex abuse between November 2021 and April 2022.

Flewellyn pleaded guilty to accessing with intent to view child pornography on July 31, according to Avery. He was released on a $100,000 bond and is required to report to prison in March.
