Norwalk Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting A Minor: Police

NORWALK, CT — A 27-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on a warrant by Norwalk police on charges of second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child in connection with an assault on a minor, according to authorities.

An investigation was launched last Thursday after a woman contacted Norwalk police and reported discovering that a child was being assaulted by Joan Chacua-Diaz.

Details of the incident were not disclosed, but soon after launching the investigation, Norwalk police obtained a warrant for Chacua-Diaz's arrest.

Chacua-Diaz surrendered to police on Sunday and was charged. He was held in lieu of bail of $100,000 and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
