The incident occurred in a vehicle on Riverside Avenue on Aug. 31.

WESTPORT, CT — A 19-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on a charge of criminal violation of a protective order on Aug. 31 when he allegedly threatened to punch a woman in the face after she took his cell phone, according to Westport police.
Kyle Vigneault was additionally charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the altercation, which allegedly took place at about 7 p.m. in a vehicle on Riverside Avenue.
"Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim of the incident. The victim stated that she was in the vehicle with Kyle Vigneault, and that the two of them began to argue," wrote Westport police in a statement. "During the course of the argument, the victim took Vigneault’s cell phone and did not believe that she needed to return it to him since she bought it for him. This escalated the argument and Vigneault began to grab for his phone while he was driving and grabbed the victim’s arm instead.

"The argument continued to intensify and Vigneault told the victim that he was going to get “physical” with her and that he would 'punch her in the face' if she did not give him his phone back. Shortly after this, Victim 1 notified Westport PD. Officers took statements from the victim and a witness who was also in the vehicle. Vigneault had a protective order against him from the victim which stated that he could not threaten her."
