Norwalk Man Arrested In Maine On Mass Shooting Threat: Report

The suspect was arrested in late August and remains in custody.

NORWALK, CT — A 25-year-old Norwalk man was arrested in Maine last month on charges relating to a threat of a mass shooting at a Walmart in Thomaston, ME, reports the Bangor Daily News.

Jeremy Hugh Rogers was charged with terrorizing with a deadly weapon, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and other violations on Aug. 22, after police in Maine evacuated the Walmart the day before.

Authorities had received a tip that Rogers had posted a threat about the Walmart to Facebook, and apprehended him at a home in Rockport, ME.

Police recovered several weapons and ammunition, including an AR-15 rifle following Rogers' arrest.

The Stamford Advocate writes that Rogers is a convicted felon in Connecticut who is prohibited from owning firearms.

He remains in custody in Maine in lieu of bail of $50,000.

Rogers is the second Norwalk resident who has been arrested recently in connection with threats of a mass shooting. Brandon Wagshol, 22, was also was arrested in August after police said he showed interest in committing a mass shooting.
