Norwalk Man Charged With Production Of Child Pornography: Feds

NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man was charged Friday by federal complaint with production of child pornography and other charges, David Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced in a news release.

As alleged in court documents, Marcos Francisco Javier Gomez, 23, of Norwalk, was arrested in April 2024 by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office after he traveled to New York to meet with a 13-year-old girl "with whom Gomez had engaged in sexually explicit communications via text messages, FaceTime and various social media applications," according to Sullivan.

Court-authorized searches of Gomez's cellphone revealed evidence that he had been communicating with at least five minor females in Connecticut, had recorded himself engaging in sexual activity with four of them, had requested that they send him videos depicting them engaging in sexually explicit conduct and had sent obscene images of himself to at least one of them, according to Sullivan.

According to Sullivan, Gomez typically met minors through Snapchat.

The complaint charges Gomez with production of child pornography, receipt or attempted receipt of child pornography, possession or attempted possession of child pornography and transfer of obscene materials to a minor, according to Sullivan.

Sullivan noted Gomez, who has been serving a New York state prison sentence, appeared Thursday before a judge in Hartford and was ordered detained.
