Norwalk Man Fatally Struck By Train In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, CT — A person fatally struck by a train Wednesday night in Fairfield has been identified as a Norwalk man.

Jason Daniel Bernstein, 25, was hit by an eastbound New Haven Line train about 7:15 p.m. at the Fairfield Metro Station, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Bernstein was not authorized to be on the tracks and the incident is not being considered an accident, according to the MTA.

Both Fairfield and MTA police responded to the incident at the station, 300 Ash Creek Blvd. Trains on the New Haven Line experienced delays for several hours as a result of the crash, but were running on schedule by 10:30 p.m., the Metro-North Railroad tweeted Wednesday.
