Norwalk Man Found with Gun, Crack & Powdered Cocaine In Westport: PD

WESTPORT, CT — A 33-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on narcotics and weapons charges Friday in Westport, after police said they found crack and powdered cocaine and a loaded handgun in the man's vehicle during a traffic stop.

Alexander Martinezcelin was pulled over by police on Saugatuck Avenue just after 7 p.m. after police suspected that the Texas license plate on his vehicle might be fraudulent, police said.

"The operator, who was identified as Alexander Martinezcelin, seemed very nervous and the officer observed a white substance on his pants which he believed to be narcotics," Westport police said. "Mr. Martinezcelin was asked to exit the vehicle at which point another officer who was on scene saw a crack pipe in plain view on the driver’s seat."

Also, inside the vehicle were a loaded .44 caliber revolver; 31.5 grams of crack cocaine; 11.7 grams of powdered cocaine; an undisclosed amount of cash; multiple cell phones; and suspected drug dealing materials, such as small plastic bags, police said.

He was released after posting bond on bail of $101,000, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 14.
