Norwalk Man Reinvents the Tool Bag

Roger Brouard is the inventor of the Veto Pro Pac, a sturdy nylon bag that stores carpenter tools in an upright position for easy access.

Recognizing that construction professionals are increasingly carrying laptops, tablets and other portable electronic devices to job sites, a Norwalk man has invented new type of tool bag designed to accommodate such devices.

According to an article in the CT Post, Roger Brouard is the inventor of the Veto Pro Pac, a sturdy nylon bag that stores carpenter tools in an upright position for easy access. Recently he improved on the bag and released a new model that also stores electronic devices such as laptops.

Brouard reportedly first invented the tool bag in 2002 after realizing that certain construction workers and service professionals needed a bag that more neatly organizes the ever widening array of tools and gear they carry. More recently he noted the increasingly important role electronic communications equipment was playing in the construction, installation and service sectors, which in turn led to a redesign of the heavy-duty nylon bag to include special compartments for such devices.

Before going to market, Brouard reportedly tested the bag’s design with construction workers from Gault Construction in Westport. The design is reportedly based on feedback he received from construction workers and more specifically HVAC technicians looking for a more convenient way to carry their equipment.

According to the article the bags cost $140 to $200 and are sold in Canada, Australia, Latin America and Europe.
