Norwalk Man Sentenced For Income Tax Fraud
He stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from his employer.

NORWALK, CT — City man Eddie Chan, 58, was sentenced to five years probation for filing false tax returns.
Chan was a bookkeeper at a private art firm in New York City. He withdrew funds from the business account and used money for personal expenses, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.
He took more than $271,000 between 2013 and 2015. Chan told officials he used much of the money to gamble on horse racing.

He pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement on a federal income tax return. He was ordered to pay $500,000 restitution to his former employer.
