NORWALK, CT — Homeschool families are invited to dive into a day of discovery during Homeschool Day, a special event scheduled for Wednseday at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.

According to a news release provided by the aquarium, this special event offers discounted admission and access to grade-appropriate educational programs designed to bring marine science to life.

Homeschool Day provides students with an opportunity to participate in many of the same classroom programs that the Maritime Aquarium's educators regularly present to traditional school groups, according to the aquarium.

From hands-on exploration to behind-the-scenes experiences, the day is crafted to support learning in an engaging, real-world environment, according to the aquarium.

"Our Homeschool Day is designed to meet students where they are — curious, eager, and ready to explore," Tom Naiman, vice president of education at the aquarium, said in a news release. "We're excited to offer homeschool families access to the same enriching programs that inspire thousands of schoolchildren each year."

The following program registration and discounted admission information was provided by the Maritime Aqaurium:

  • Registration for programs closes on Monday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m.
  • Discounted admission prices are: $19.50 for children (ages 3-12), $25.50 for adults and $25.50 for seniors (65+).
  • A 4D movie may be added to admission for $7.95 per person ($6.95 for aquarium members).
  • All guests ages 3 and older must purchase aquarium admission, except members.

Families may enhance their visit with special add-on programs, including the popular "Behind the Scenes Tour" with stingray feeding.

These add-on program prices range from $10 to $15 per student, according to the aquarium.
