Norwalk Middle School Parents Tell Ed Officials: Communicate with Us!

With changes on the horizon for the city's middle schools, parents want to make sure their voices are heard.

Norwalk, CT - Changes are coming to Norwalk's middle schools, but a growing number of parents and teachers are feeling left out of the decision-making process, which has prompted a new petition.

Originally posted on the closed Facebook group Norwalk Parents for Education, the petition urges school officials to better communicate with parents and teachers about what's going on with the plans. In addition to parents for education page, the petition is also posted on local Choices for Success Facebook page. See below.

The Hour reports that the redesign planned for the middle schools includes several new programs and a block scheduling component.

While many parents are not opposed to changes to the middle schools, many are frustrated by the seemingly rapid fashion in which the plans may be pushed through, reports NancyOnNorwalk.com.

The Board of Education is slated to vote on all or portions of the plan on June 21.
