Norwalk Open Streets Festival To Be Held This Weekend

The Norwalk Open Streets: Walk, Bike & Roll Festival will be held Saturday morning at Calf Pasture Beach.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Open Streets: Walk, Bike & Roll Festival is scheduled to be held Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Calf Pasture Beach.

According to the city's Facebook page, the Open Streets festival, organized by the Norwalk Bike/Walk Commission, will include a variety of fitness and fun activities for folks to enjoy in a car-free environment.

Residents are invited to bring their neighbors, friends and family members for a variety of outdoor activities and community engagement, such as a bike rodeo, kid's games and tabling by local organizations.

Norwalk's Open Streets festival is a great opportunity to explore the city in a new way and get some exercise, according to the city. Attendees are invited to follow the path straight to the brand-new pedestrian plaza on the east side of the parking lot.

During the event, one side of Calf Pasture Beach Road will be transformed into a vibrant temporary "greenway" exclusively for pedestrians, cyclists, joggers and rollers.

The other side of Calf Pasture Beach Road will remain open as a two-lane street to ensure smooth traffic flow, city officials said.

"We aim to provide a safe, convenient, and comfortable route for everyone to access the beach while promoting active lifestyles and community building," the post reads.
