Norwalk Pizzeria Named Top Slice In CT, New Ranking Says
A Norwalk pizzeria has the best slice in Connecticut, according to a travel magazine's ranking of the "top pizza slice in all 50 states."
NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk pizzeria has the best slice in Connecticut, according to travel magazine 5 Reasons to Visit's ranking of the top pizza slices in each state.
The magazine describes the list, titled "America's Best Pizza: The Top Slice in All 50 States Ranked," as the ultimate 50-state editor's pick guide.
Published this week, the list highlights pizza slices from "standout pizzerias, local favorites and must-visit spots that define each region's unique flavor," according to the travel magazine.

For Connecticut, 5 Reasons to Visit named Norwalk pizzeria Crust Issues as the best slice in the state.
Located at 60 Connecticut Avenue, the ranking notes that Crust Issues offers "a fresh, modern approach" to a classic pizzeria.

"Known for its crisp, well-balanced crust, creative topping combinations, and attention to quality ingredients, [Crust Issues] has quickly become a local standout," the ranking reads. (Read the full list of best slices in all 50 states here.)
According to Visit Norwalk, Crust Issues specializes in pan pizza with a crust that is parts crisp, chewy, light and airy.
In addition to classics like cheese and pepperoni, the pizzeria offers signature pies like tinga chicken, "mozz stick" and "hamburglar," as well as a fried chicken pie with pimento cheese and green goddess sauce, according to Visit Norwalk.
Inventive salads, sandwiches, meatballs, pasta and other dishes are also featured on the Crust Issues menu.
In response to being included in the ranking, Crust Issues posted a video on its Instagram page thanking the travel magazine for the recognition.
The post also alluded to the fact that Crust Issues was proud to stand out in a state that is known for iconic pizzerias like Pepe's, Sally's, Modern Apizza and other famous Connecticut pizza spots.
The pizzeria's post noted they were "beyond grateful" to have been selected.
"Pizza in this state is crazy competitive and there are so so so many amazing spots," the post reads. "We realize it's a completely subjective thing, but we're still pretty fired up about it!! Thank you."
In addition to naming their slice the best in Connecticut, the travel magazine sat down for an interview with Crust Issues Owner and Executive Chef John Nealon, in which he shared that Hollywood icons Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively once visited the Norwalk pizzeria on a busy Sunday night.
