Norwalk Police Announce Road Closures for this Weekend's SoNo Half Marathon

The event starts at 9 a.m. in Veteran's Park and ends by 12:30 p.m. Several roads in and around South and East Norwalk will be closed.

NORWALK, CT — With the SoNo Half Marathon and 5K scheduled for Saturday, October 15, the Norwalk Police Department has announced which roads will be closed during the race.

The event starts at 9 a.m. in Veteran’s Park and is scheduled to be completed by 12:30 p.m., and the police department will have officers positioned at multiple traffic posts throughout the race route.

"Drivers are encouraged to avoid the route area while the event is occurring, as traffic will be significantly impacted," police wrote in a statement.

Below is the list of street closures with anticipated closure times:

  • Washington Street CLOSED 9AM - 10:30 AM
  • Ann St CLOSED 9AM - 10:30 AM
  • N. Water St 9AM CLOSED - 10:30 AM
  • N. Main St CLOSED 9AM - 10:30 AM
  • S. Main St between Washington St to Monroe St CLOSED 9AM - 10:30 AM
  • Monroe St CLOSED 9AM - 9:30 AM
  • Stroffolino Bridge westbound CLOSED 9AM - 10:30 AM
  • Seaview Ave East Bound CLOSED 9 AM - 12:30 PM
  • No west bound traffic on Fort Point past Van Zant St 9AM - 10:30 AM
  • No north bound traffic on Flax Hill Rd past Taylor Ave 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM
  • No south bound traffic on East Ave from Fitch St to Winfield St 9:45 AM - 11:30 AM
  • No south bound traffic on Cove Ave 10:00 AM - 12:15 PM
  • I95 north bound Exit16 ramp CLOSED 9:30am - 11:30am

Also note that Martin Luther King Drive, West Avenue and East Avenue will have 1 lane coned off for runners, watch for them and drive safely.
