Norwalk Police Department Introduces New Police Service Kiosk
Police said the new kiosk is designed to make it easier and more convenient for residents to request non-emergency police services.
NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department announced Thursday the introduction of a new police service kiosk in the lobby of police headquarters, located at 1 Monroe Street in Norwalk.
In a Facebook post, the department said the new police service kiosk is designed to make it easier and more convenient for residents to request non-emergency police services.
According to police, residents can use the kiosk to get case numbers for minor incidents that do not require a police investigation or contact with an officer, such as a damaged mailbox or lost items.

The kiosk will also provide community members with a convenient way to submit service requests, report certain non-emergency matters and access information without having to speak to an officer, according to police.
"Residents can report crime and traffic tips, submit requests for police reports, submit Freedom of Information requests, make appointments for fingerprints, leave referrals for the department's Behavioral Health Unit, pay parking tickets, receive information on police-related applications for licenses and permits and have access to a complete city directory," the department's post reads.

Police noted this initiative is part of the department's ongoing commitment to improving customer service, increasing accessibility and using technology to better serve the community.
"The police department appreciates the community's cooperation and looks forward to using this new resource to make police services more accessible and responsive to the people we serve," police wrote on Facebook.
