Norwalk Police Department Swears In 2 New Officers

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department recently swore in two new officers, the department announced Friday.

According to the department's Facebook page, Officer Thomas Smalls and Probationary Officer Samantha Ponce were both sworn in by police commissioners.

Smalls joins the Norwalk department after transferring from the Torrington Police Department and is set to begin his in-house training, police said.

Ponce will begin her journey at the Milford Police Academy as she prepares for a career in law enforcement, according to police.

"Please join us in welcoming Officer Smalls and Probationary Officer Ponce," the department wrote on Facebook, "and wishing them both a long, safe and rewarding career serving the Norwalk community."
