Norwalk Police and Fire Departments Participate in Mock Drill

A mock incident off of the Norwalk Islands helped train members of the state Region 1 Marine Group together with the U.S. Coast Guard and Norwalk first responders on how to handle a search and rescue mission.

The Norwalk Hour reported that the training session Wednesday involved fire and police marine units from Greenwich to Milford.

Norwalk Deputy Fire Chief Edward Prescott told the Hour that the training concentrated on command structure and multi-agency coordination.

The mock drill also helped to test new electronic components installed on fire and police boats.
