UPDATE: Norwalk Police Release Surveillance Photos of Bank Robber

The robbery occurred Friday morning at the Webster Bank on Connecticut Avenue.

Updated at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016: Norwalk police are continuing to search for the suspect in a Friday morning bank robbery at Webster Bank on Connecticut Avenue, and have released surveillance photos to aid in the hunt.

"The suspect entered the bank and passed a note," wrote Lt. Terrence Blake in a post on the Department's Facebook page. "The suspect indicated he had a weapon but did not display one. Once the suspect obtained money, he fled on foot to Stop and Shop where he entered a vehicle and fled the area."

The incident occurred just after 10 a.m., and the suspect is described as follows, "a black male, 50’s, medium build approximately 5'-6" tall, walked with a cane in his right hand and has a large gap between his top front teeth."

Original story: NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Police are actively searching for a bank robber who hit the Connecticut Avenue Webster Bank Friday morning.

Police posted about the robbery on its Twitter page just after 11 a.m., and wrote that no one was injured in the incident.

The suspect was described as a 50-ish black male, who wore glasses and walked with a cane. He was last seen fleeing the scene in black sedan, possibly with New York license plates.

Further details, and how much money the suspect may have gotten, were not immediately available.
