NORWALK, CT — Police have released the description of a man accused of robbing a Starbucks coffee shop in Norwalk at gunpoint last weekend.

In an email, Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Starbucks, located at 56 Westport Avenue, around 5 p.m. on Oct. 30.

Gulino said the man pointed a black handgun at employees and demanded access to a safe. He then took money from both the safe and a tip jar, then fled the coffee shop.

According to witnesses, the man was between 5'8" and 5'10" tall, possibly in his 20's. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black Nike sneakers, as well as a black face mask covered by a white medical face mask.

The amount of money taken from the store was not disclosed by police. No injuries were reported.
