Norwalk Police Share Tips To Keep Pets Safe On July 4th
Norwalk police have shared some helpful tips to keep your pets safe during the Fourth of July holiday.

NORWALK, CT — With the Fourth of July holiday right around the corner, the Norwalk Department of Police Service Animal Control Division would like to share some helpful tips to keep your pets safe.
According to a news release, owners and caregivers should follow these simple tips to keep their pets safe:
- Keep all pets away from fireworks displays
- Do not play fetch with fireworks. They can severely injure or kill your pet when they explode
- Loud noise phobias can cause your pet to bite someone out of fear. Your pet may also run away
- Secure your pets inside during fireworks displays. Put the radio or television on to distract them from hearing fireworks
- Signs of noise phobias in dogs are ears in a downward position, trembling, tail tucked between legs, heavy panting or heavy drooling.
The Norwalk Department of Police Service Animal Control Division wishes everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July.
