Norwalk Police Welcome 3 New Officers: PD

The Norwalk Police Department's three newest recruits were sworn in by Mayor Barbara Smyth during a recent ceremony.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department's three newest recruits were sworn in by Mayor Barbara Smyth and police commissioners during a ceremony held Monday, the department announced.

In a Facebook post, police welcomed officers Miguel Araujo, James Smith and Jim Xhema as they embark on their journey attending the police academy.

According to police, the three new officers "will be challenged through a demanding and comprehensive program of academic, mental and physical training" while attending the academy.

"Please join us in wishing them a long, safe and rewarding career as they begin serving the Norwalk community," police wrote on Facebook.
