Norwalk Public Library Seeks Memorial Day 'Reflections'
The library will record people's remembrances via Zoom on May 19.
May 13 2020
Norwalk, CT, – Memorial Day, traditionally commemorated with parades, public ceremonies and gatherings to honor our fallen war heroes - starting with the Civil War up through the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan - may look different during this time of social distancing. Although we may be apart, the Norwalk Public Library invites Norwalkers to come together virtually for Memorial Day Reflections: Remembering Our Veterans, on Tuesday, May 19, from 3 - 5 p.m. on Zoom. Veterans, servicemembers and families are invited to share meaningful poems, prose, letters and lyrics, honoring our local heroes. Each reading should be no longer than 3 - 4 minutes in length. This program will be recorded and broadcast on Memorial Day weekend, on Facebook Live, YouTube, and the Norwalk Public Library website. To participate, please contact Christine Bradley, Executive Director, Norwalk Public Library at: cbradley@norwalkpl.org.
