NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk resident and Stew Leonard's Wines & Spirits employee has received a $4,000 scholarship from the store's scholarship program.

According to a news release, team member Zachary Zelman was awarded for his hard work and dedication to the company. Each year, Stew Leonard’s Wines & Spirits recognizes employees who go above and beyond in their line of duty in the store.

The scholarship awards $1,000 a year for up to four years to help students further enhance their educational objectives and career goals for the future. In order to be eligible, the employee must be attending or planning to attend an accredited college.

Born and raised in Norwalk, Zelman joined the team in 2016 and is a wine merchandiser at the Norwalk store. With this scholarship, Zelman, currently studying business management at Norwalk Community College, plans to continue his education and transfer to SUNY Delhi to work towards a bachelor’s degree in golf and turf management.

He eventually hopes to become a head superintendent at a golf course, a job that would allow him to combine his love for the outdoors with his interest in business management and customer service.
