Norwalk Residential Care Home Fined After Incidents

One incident related to an evacuation after a fire.

NORWALK, CT — Carlson Place was fined $1,000 and agreed to hire a consultant after a number of violations were found, according to a state Department of Public Health report.

A fire alarm failed to sound at the residential care home and directors failed to follow procedure during an incident on Jan. 1, according to the Connecticut Health Investigation Team. An audible part of the alarm failed to sound during an earlier drill.

Other incidents were also investigated. The owner of the home said issues have been resolved, according to C-HIT.
