A Norwalk restaurant featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" has been selected by a publication as the best in Connecticut.

NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk restaurant once featured on celebrity chef Guy Fieri's popular show, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," has been selected by a food publication as the best in Connecticut.
Mashed, a multi-platform publication dedicated to people who find joy in eating and cooking, recently compiled a list of "The Best Diners, Drive Ins, And Dives Restaurant In Every State" featuring the Mashed editorial team's favorite restaurant featured on Fieri's show in each state.
For Connecticut, the publication singled out Valencia Luncheria in Norwalk, which Fieri visited in an episode called "Something From Everywhere" that first aired in January 2009.

Located on Main Street, Valencia specializes in Venezuelan cuisine and boasts an extensive menu that features an array of empanadas and arepas, as well as inventive main dishes and a fun specialty cocktail list.
"This restaurant, tucked away in Norwalk, is run by a passionate and highly seasoned chef and is known for its wide variety of unique arepas and empanadas, along with a variety of other classic Latin dishes," the Mashed description of Valencia reads.

According to the Food Network, notable dishes at Valencia have included the Pernil Arepa featuring a Venezuelan-style roasted pork, as well as The Morning After, Strong Island and Red Smitty.
Mashed also noted the Nutella and Peanut Butter Empanada as a tasty option for dinner or dessert.
