NORWALK, CT — The NAMM Foundation has selected Norwalk Public Schools as one of the "Best Communities for Music Education" for the fifth consecutive year.
According to a news release provided by Norwalk Public Schools, the Best Communities for Music Education Award is a signature program of The NAMM Foundation that recognizes and celebrates school districts and schools for their support and commitment to music education and their efforts to ensure access to music for all students as part of a well-rounded education.

Throughout the program's 25 years, the foundation has recognized over 1,000 school districts and schools, combined, in 43 states.
In 2024, the NAMM Foundation recognized 975 school districts for their music education, according to the district.

The award program recognizes and celebrates outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education.
Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education, according to the district.
The schools and communities recognized by the Best Communities for Music Education demonstrate a commitment to ensuring music learning opportunities are available for every student and provide an example for other communities to follow, according to the district.
