1. Lengyel Tosses No-Hitter For Norwalk Babe Ruth
Christian Lengyel threw a no-hitter Sunday as Norwalk blanked Marlboro (Mass.) 4-0 to stay alive in the 13-year-old Babe Ruth New England Regionals at McMahon.

Norwalk will play again in the tournament on Monday at 7 p.m. against the loser of Sunday's winner's bracket contest between Cranston (R.I.) and Plymouth (Mass.).
Lengyel struck out six and walked three for Norwalk, which fell into the loser's bracket with a 3-2 loss to Central Maine on Saturday.

2. Norwalk Riptide Finishes Third In The Regionals
It took 12 innings, but the Norwalk Riptide U-14 finally was eliminated 14-year-old Babe Ruth New England Regionals, falling 4-3 to the hosts from Lynn, Mass.
With the loss, Norwalk finished third in the regionals. Two of its three defeats in the tournament came against Lynn, which advanced to the championship game against the Rochester Slammers of New Hampshire.
Norwalk 11-Years-Olds Fall in Ripken Finals
Norwalk fell to Newtown 8-7 on Saturday in the finals of the Cal Ripken 11-year-old state tournament. Norwalk needed to beat Newtown twice to win the championship as it also lost to Newtown 10-6 earlier in the tournament.
On Saturday, Norwalk rallied from a 5-0 deficit to take a 7-5 lead, but Newtown responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to win in walk-off fashion.
3. American Legion Northeast Regionals
Fresh off its first state championship, Norwalk begins play in the senior American Legion Northeast Regional tournament on Thursday in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
Norwalk, which blanked Branford 3-0 in the title game, faces the Maine state champion on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
If Norwalk wins, it would face the New York-Massachusetts winner on Friday at 4:30 p.m. A loss means an early game on Friday at 9:30 a.m. against the New York-Massachusetts loser.
Eight teams are entered in the double elimination event - the six New England states, New York and the host team.
The winners of the eight regionals around the country advance to the Legion national tournament.

4. Chelsea Fitness Academy Set For Wednesday
The Chelsea Cohen Fitness Academy will conduct its first annual jamboree on Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. at Testa Field. More than 500 summer campers, aged 8-15, are expected to attend.
Former New York Mets manager and ESPN baseball analyst Bobby Valentine will be the featured speaker. The event is open to the public.
Campers from the following youth organizations will participate: Cardinal Shehan Center & First Tee of Fairfield County (Bridgeport), George Washington Carver Center and Norwalk Recreation and Parks (Norwalk); Stamford YMCA, Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, & Yerwood Center (Stamford) and Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.
Established in August 2010 in honor of the Chelsea Cohen, who died in 2006 at age 17, the Chelsea Cohen Fitness Academy is a countywide effort to combat childhood obesity and teach young people how to adopt active and healthy lifestyles.
5. Mike Garrity basketball summer camp
The Mike Garrity Elite Basketball Summer Camp at Compo Beach is set for the weeks of Aug. 15-19 and Aug. 22-26 from 2-4 p.m. each day.
The camp will be geared toward players from kindergarten through eighth grade and campers will be broken into groups based on age and skill level.
The camp stresses fundamentals. Development will come through drills, lectures and competition. Cost is $275 with a $75 discount for all players that sign up for both weeks.
