Thegirls basketball team rebounded from an ugly season-opening loss to Staples to defeat Bridgeport Central 48-32 on Friday night in Bridgeport.
Jazmine Taylor scored 16 points and Aleigh Fitzpatrick added 10 for the Senators, who improved to 1-1.

McMahon only held a 16-14 lead after the first quarter, but outscored the Hilltoppers 11-0 in the second period to take control.
No player scored in double figures for Central. Demere Hunt-Stephon was the Hilltoppers' lead with nine points.
