Norwalk Boys Beat Bunnnell 77-66 In Masuk Tournament

Saeed Soulemane scored 15 points to pace six players in double figures Tuesday as the boys basketball team defeated Bunnell 77-66 in the Masuk holiday tournament.
Jabari Dear scored 14 and Bobby Stringfellow added 12 for the Bears, who improved to 3-1.

Ra'Von Shular and Delshawn Wilson each scored 11 points Rasheen Thompson chipped in with 10 to complete the balances attack.
After Norwalk jumped out 21-11 lead after the first quarter, the Bulldogs pulled within 39-33 at the half.

But the Bears put away the contest during an explosive third period when they outscored Bunnell 30-19 to take a 69-52 lead into the final period.
Norwalk will take host Masuk, a 63-56 winner over Shelton, in the championship game on Thursday.
Matt Nolting led Bunnell with 24 points.

Kate Kerrigan scored 14 points Tuesday as the Fairfield Warde girls basketball team advanced to the championship game of the annual Todd Burger tournament with a 57-34 victory at Fairfield Ludlowe.
Jamera Fountain scored nine points and Tiara Fountain added eight for the Mustangs, who improved to 2-3.
Fairfield Warde prevailed with strong defense, jumping out to a 13-6 first-quarter lead. The Mustangs then allowed only two points in the second period to extend their advantage to 28-8 at the half.
Jazmine Taylor led the Senators (2-4) with eight points.
McMahon will take on Fairfield Ludlowe, a 40-36 loser to Brookfield, in the consolation game on Thursday.
